New girls in the house

Saturday, November 14th, 2009

This week I’ve been pretty sick with a terrible flu I have no idea where I got from , still I managed last weekend to go to a Barbie fair :-) I thought it was just a mild cold, I didn’t realize it was just the beginning :-(

Anyway…I really splashed out this time! I bought the Diva Jazz Baby:

I love her! She has the most beautiful face I saw on a Barbie in a long time and she comes with lots of accessories, included 3 wigs.

Then I couldn’t resist and bought also Feelin’ Fierce Dani:

and…the Jonathan Adler sofa! I cannot believe I spent so much in 1 single day ;-)

I posted some pictures of them on my flickr account.

The Fashionistas-Barbie loves P&C update

Wednesday, August 19th, 2009

So…my sister-in-law found them!!! I’m so excited. I’m normally very happy when I meet with her, we have always a nice time together but I’m never been so keen on meeting with her as now since when it happens she will deliver the dolls to me :-D .

You can see both on my flickr account and her german blog the pictures she took of the dolls in the box. Also she posted few pictures of the Artsy Fashionistas on her flickr account. They look gorgeous!!!

Thanks again Ursula!

Photoshooting

Sunday, June 7th, 2009

Yesterday we were planning to take some pictures outdoor with my-sister-in law but unfortunately the weather was dreadful. It rained cats and dogs :-(

To cheer me up I took today some pictures of the dolls clothes I got from my-sister-in law for the girls. As usually Momoko and Arianna managed to grab the clothes, They are really greedy.

Here they improvised a small fashion-show

A nice summery crocheted outfit. I got it also in another color variation, very nice :-)

A romantic white dress for Arianna:

and a full set of mix-and-match clothes (1 on the dummy is from the Xmas gift). I love the combination of brown and pink and so did the girls:-)

My new Sindy

Saturday, May 9th, 2009

My new Sindy got washed and cleaned . Here she’s at the hairdresser, a small, old-looking salon run by friend of hers. It is not the most glamorous one but Sindy loves it because there she gets the best service in town an also indeed because of the old-fashion style, reminding her of her youth.

Here few pictures from when she was having her hair done:

finally dressed up properly in an original Sindy outfit (removed from the original packaging just for her):

and finally not alone anymore ;-) but back with her sisters:

she’s very happy :-D

Teen Trends dolls

Sunday, April 12th, 2009

Today I decided to have a better look and take some pictures of the Teen Trends dolls I purchased few months ago (actually I think it was almost 1 year ago).

I bought them off ebay since they were hardly played with (the shoes were still kept in place by the elastic bands), complete of everything (included boxes)and very cheap (less than 2o euros for all 3 of them).

After I bought them I actually read this interesting review of the dolls and today I decided to have a closer look myself.

Here is Kianna:

and here Courtney:

I like their face painting very much, especially Kianna’s, and it is indeed true that they are more poseable than a Barbie and her clothes much better quality but…there are quite few of buts…

The hair are cut unevenly and tend to be really frizzy. I don’t think it is due to the fact the dolls were not NRFB since you can  see that the child who owned them hardly played.

The clothes are very good quality but the shoes are just molded plastic. For dolls of such a scale I would have expected for example trainers with a bit of fabric on them and not 100% plastic clearly molded out of a single piece.

It is true that these are supposed to be play-line dolls but it is also true that in Europe they were sold initially for something about 30 euros, so not exactly on the cheap side.

I will try to take other pictures of them in the future and if I keep of the same idea I will most probably sell them.

Daphne and Anyssa arrived!

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

And they are beautiful:-)

My porcelain Bratz arrived safe and sound from US and I love them :-) For the moment I will keep the girls in the boxes since I have no space in the vitrines anymore and I don’t want them to get ruined. Their clothes are superb and I keep wondering how they would fit the standard Bratz dolls but for the moment I will not give up and they will remain boxed.

Here is Daphne:

and here is Anyssa:

are they not beautiful? Welcome to the family girls ;-)

A trip down memory lane

Sunday, January 18th, 2009

My husband this evening was rummaging through one of our messy-overcrowded cupboards and found some old pictures. There were also some I took almost 10 years ago when I started collecting. I used to have only a  normal camera  back then and you can see some of the very first dolls I bought, a couple of Hasbro Sindy. I still find them lovely but after a while I moved to Pedigree Sindy  so I stopped buying the Hasbro ones :-)

Here they are:

Have a nice week, full of dolls and playing :-)

Experimenting

Monday, September 29th, 2008

I went back to the toy-shop and got myself a Summer, I really love this line of Fashion Fever Barbie dolls. After I’ve got the doll I decided to play a bit around with my Paint.NET, on the left is the picture without any touch-up, on the right the one with a bit of softness added:

Which one do you prefer?
