Fleamarket time! Again :-)

Monday, August 25th, 2008

Finally I have a long weekend, 5 days free!!! I’m so happy and as usually I planned to do much more than at the end I will manage to accomplish in just few days off :-)

I should also do boring stuff as ironing, cleaning the bathroom and so on and sofort :-( but yesterday the weather was lovely and we went to a fleamarket.

I found quite few nice things but the highlight of the day was her!!!!!

I was almost fainting when the man said he wanted 10 euros, the box is bashed but the doll is NRFB, a shaping up Sindy, beautiful and untouched.

I also got a couple of Strawberry Shortcakes, they are the new issues, not the vintage ones from the’80 but I found them equally cute and picked up also some nice nursery dolls furniture by the same seller:

And then again some nice dolls for my dolls, included a lovely cabbage patch kid and a miniature dollhouse, they are lovely:

Then some random Barbie dolls from end of the ’80, beginning of the ’90, they already having a bath, enjoying a long deserved shampoo:

With them I picked also some nice furniture, again from the ’80 and a couple of barbie miniatures.

Another nice doll I’ve got is this Pocahonats , she’s 40 cm and worth each of the 3 euros I paid for her LOL

I also got some other minor stuff, see some of them here:

Anyway, my house is now overflowing with toys, I mean…more than usually and I need to made a bit of space around so I think I will try to post some of it soon on ebay. Stay tuned…

Fleamarket time!!!

Sunday, August 17th, 2008

As you all know by now I’m really a fleamarket freak and here around in the area there’s enough to satisfy my greed ;-) Yesterday though for the first time we went to one in Bonn (quite few kilometres away) and…oh boy..I never saw such a big one. After more than 3 hours we had covered not even half of it and we decided to head back home. The weather was lovely, I saw plenty of stuff around but many things were “ebay price range” so I didn’t take them. I still picked up a couple of nice things for great prices.

I found one of the super-size ballerina Nutcracker that were in stores few years ago for 60 euros. She’s mint, still with her jewel kept in place by the vinyl strings, she’s beautiful(I will keep her) and I paid the whooping price of 3 euros:

I also got 2 Midge dolls, one with her original jewellery and some cute Barbie accessories. The LP player is a wind-up toy and when you charge it, the small disc really rotates, it is so cute, also the writing machine is very detailed (to be Mattel stuff) even if on the smallish size. The clock is terrible in pink but for once really a good size, not a clock for dwarf dolls:

Totally different but great is this sort of chest I found, it fits nice with dolls in 1/6 scale, and then I love this handpainted small miniature “paintings”, I think all of them we’ll decorate my long-planned Antiquities shop:

I also got a couple of very cheap miniature on the way out, at that point we were a bit lost and overwhelmed so too tired to keep watching:

All of the above was bought for 14 euros, did I mention I love german Fleamarkets? ;-)

Another fleamarket…another great day – part 2

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008

So, if  you are still with me after the first part of the post here is the rest. What is it? Well…dolls of course!

I’ve got some Ken/Allan and an unknown male figure together with two Barbie dolls, I think they are all from the’80 and at the moment I plan to keep the one dressed in red for myself, of course all need to be washed and spruced a bit up:

then again Barbie dolls (surprise!) from the ’80 (I think) with some sweet babies:

In the lot above there was also a Ken in Skating dress ( with skates). It doesn’t look very manly to me but on the other side I’m happy not to share my taste in men and furniture with Barbie :-)

At another table I found a nice Todd with original clothes (but without shoes) and I thought that for 2 euros (included the bag and the cats I showed before) he was worth buying. I could perhaps have haggled the price down (it’s the main fun at fleamarkets) but we were afraid rain was on its way and wanted to leave, just kidding ;-)

Last but not least two nice Petra and Fred by Plasty NRFB and a cute outfit set for Shelly/Kelly (NRFB as well):

that’s all for today but if you have time tomorrow come back and check for updates since we are heading to another big fleamarket in Düsseldorf, cross fingers :-)

Diamonds…more pictures

Here are some more pictures from yesterday, the dolls are a modern Top Model Barbie and a vintage Superstar modeling some of the jewellery my husband sells on his shop:

I actually never bought myself jewellery for my dolls but after playing around with them I really liked the end result and I will suggest my husband I will keep this ones since they are already “used” ;-) Am I a fox or not?The doll on the left is dressed in a Barbie fashion from a  couple of years ago, the one on the right is wearing an OOAK outfit from Ursula.

Once we start redressing the dolls I  couldn’t stop and here is how the Top Model ended up her day:

I don’t remember where the glasses come from but they look cool on her ;-)

So, that’s all for today, now I need to go and fold socks :-(

Fleamarket today! And other great finds-part 1

Sunday, July 6th, 2008

Today I was all set to clean my messy flat, fill in some forms I need to go trough  and other boring stuff. When we got up though, quite late by the way, my husband announced he just saw on internet that today there was one of the 2 big flea-markets we try to go to once a month in Düsseldorf. On top of that the weather was great. Needless to say the flat was left uncared and off we went.

I was not hoping to find great stuff since 2 weeks ago I was pretty lucky at the other big flea-market but obviously people are in need of money for their holidays and are emptying their cellars So, here is what I’ve got…To start with, some nice miniature decorative dishes with stand, all mint, and barbie size:

They are much nicer than in the pictures! They are supposed to be one for each season but I’ve got only 3 sorts so obviously one season is missing, still very nice though. They are marked “Marco Polo”.

Then I’ve got this, I couldn’t believe when the seller asked 3 euros for it, I just grabbed it, paid, an run away before he could change his mind:

I think it is from 1974-75, in very good conditions and destined to ebay :-)

My Momoko  on the other way was absolutely thrilled when she saw what I’ve got for the dollhouse oriental lounge-room. It was the find of the day, minor faults, perfectly scaled and great price:

Oh boy, I really think I could bore you but I absolutely need to show my finds off.

Second barbie score of the day was this barbie house in a plastic case, I think it is from the seventies, but I couldn’t find it ony my book about Barbie Structures & Furniture. It comes with tons of accessories and great backdrops:

For the rest of my finds (still lot to come) see part 2 of this post ;-)

My dolls got a dollhouse!

Saturday, July 5th, 2008

My dolls got a dollhouse! But not just a plain dollhouse, the lucky brats got what I will never be able to afford, a vintage deluxe Barbie house. Here some pictures:

Is it not delightful? I can hear already the girls quarrelling over it :-)

I gave up, after browsing for months through blogs and even more blogs I think I’ve got the bug. I need to have one as well!!! What about? But dolls of course! My favourite hobby, my source of delight and financial bleeding LOL.

What better moment than now, during my first free week in months?

Just to start, here is a picture of 3 nice ladies, all recently acquired. Starting from the left a Dynamite girl by Integrity Toys (http://www.integritytoys.com/dynamite.html), a Barbie Top Model and a Takara Licca doll
