“Tangled”-trailer

Thursday, June 10th, 2010

I just watched the trailer for the Walt Disney movie “Tangled” (aka Rapunzel). I have to admit it is not what I expected. I know you cannot judge a movie from the trailer…but still…from what leaked in the previous months through blogs and forums I was expecting something more “poetic”…mhhh…I think I will wait for the DVD to go on sale. If you didn’t see it, here it is:

By the way, here is an interesting article about Mattel toys that will be or  by now have been produced for “Tangle”, “Toy Story 3″ and “Cars”. It looks like not only they will put on the shelves Rapunzel dolls after the movie but even a Tower playset!

Alma

Monday, June 7th, 2010

I’ve been watching quite few videos recently and this is one them: Alma. I’m still not sure whether I like it or not. The drawings are so cheerful and “cartoonish” but the story is pretty creepy, actually horror (at least for me).

What do you think? Do you like it?

Ken and Barbie starring in Toy Story 3

Sunday, February 14th, 2010

I saw yesterday the new trailer of Toy Story 3 and I can’t wait to watch it!!! From what I can see the movie looks amazing!!! But best of all two of our favourite characters make their appearance in it: Barbie and Ken!!! They are both dressed in what are clearly eighties clothes, I mean…look at him:

He’s definitely Animal Lovin’ Barbie Ken from 1988, see for comparison here the doll how it appears in the original commercial from 1988:

She’s Great Shape Barbie:

isn’t she gorgeous?

In the background you can clearly see what looks to me like the Barbie Dream House from 1983:

the scene where they meet is so “cheesily” sweet :-)

but then something obviously goes wrong along the way since he’s spotted gambling:

and at one point she seems not so happy with him anymore, it looks like they had already their problems back then:

I just wonder why he changes clothes and she doesn’t :-(

Can’t wait for summer to come and watch it :-D

Barbie Talks About Her New Movie, "Barbie And The Three Musketeers"

Saturday, September 26th, 2009

oh my gosh….How cute is this?

I love it, it made me smile :-)

And if you didn’t see it yet, here is the new commercial for the DVD.

Alice in Wonderland

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

This is ridiculous! Today at work I watched the official trailer of Alice in  Wonderland, the new movie by Tim Burton (1:33 minutes of visual gorgeousness!) and I wanted to do a small post for my blog. And guess what???

It is gone!!! Vanished, no trace of it :-( This is SO disappointing.

Update: It looks like it has been remove following a request from the copyright holders. But I thought it was an official trailer!!! pfffff….Anyway…trust me…if the movie is just as half good as the trailer we have to rush to the cinema when it comes out :-)

Update 2: ah…no! I found it. So most probably the problem was only the fact it appeared on Youtube because I saw it on other sites. You can see it here for example, enjoy!!

Kajimba!!!

Saturday, July 18th, 2009

As you know by now I’m a sucker for animated movies. I like all of them, well…almost :-) I’m looking forward for example to the release of the new Disney Rapunzel, the few pictures I saw on line look fantastic. And I’m full of hope also for Toy Story 3, the first 2  movies made history.

But what really got me excited is Kajimba!!! It will be an animated serie, 26 episodes of minutes each and they should be available online once ready (at least this is what I understood). They are making them with Blender, an open source application and from what I saw they will be really awesome. Here is the trailer:

Kajimba Annecy 2009 – trailer from Kajimba on Vimeo.

And on the site you can watch many clips and read a detailed description of all the characters.

Beauty and Fashion ad campaigns

Monday, July 13th, 2009

If you didn’t gather that yet I LOVE FASHION. I really love clothes, costume jewels, shoes, bags etc etc. And what I also like are fashion ad campaigns, well…not all of them but most (by the way…not dolls related but I love Christian Laboutin new fall/winter campaign)

Sometimes it’s not even the clothes I like but rather the pictures themselves, the “story” built up to sustain the campaign or even just a concept or idea that make that campaign particularly fascinating for me.

And what delights me even more are fashion ads with dolls or puppets as testimonials!!!  Look for example at the characters created to appear in the print ads for Cotton Incorporated. I believe the characters have been created a couple of years ago and they look just awesome!!!

And they remind me of the Harvey Nichols ad campaign featuring Wallace & Gromit from lat year. It was created for the opening of the Bristol store. Here you can see some of the pictures from this stunning campaign and read a full review of it, and here below a video from the backstage:

Not to mention the one from Alexander McQueen with Blythe modeling miniature copies the designer past year collection.

And look at this one! It is the advertisement for some hair care products: the brand is Livon

This is not the only one available on youtube. I love them, the dolls look so alive. I actually wonder dolls are they. If anybody know let me know please :-)
