Paper diorama for a doctor office – just great!

Sunday, October 19th, 2008

I subscribed to few feeds from papercraft blogs (I love this stuff!) and today I saw on PaperCraft Paradise a post regarding a cute Doctor Office diorama, if I understood correctly it is even 1/6 scale since they mentioned it could be used also for Gi Joe. The office set is avalaible here, and then on this page you can get the equipment. A full history  and origins of the diorama paperset can be read on Paper Bonanza blog.

I’m not sure when and if I will have a go at it but I saved all the pdf files, I hate when I bookmark something absolutely nice and months afterwards it is gone. I have a large harddisk and I can always get a bigger one LOL.

Flea-market vintage finds

Sunday, October 19th, 2008

Yesterday we had a day fully planned as we were heading in the early afternoon to Bonn to visit an exhibition (nothing to do with dolls) and have a meal out with friends. Still we couldn’t completely miss the big flea-market here where we live (the weather was again great) and we went quickly there in the morning.
I found a black superstar in desperate need of being fixed: the neck is unfortunately broken, still the head is nice and so the body and she comes with her outfit and shoes. She was 2 euros so I took her anyway:

and I bought this cute set, it is perhaps a bit big for 1/6 scale but still so nice:

My great find though was this old kitchen from Schopper, perhaps it is not so vintage as it looks since the company produces vintage-looking items but the price tag is still in DM and not euros so it cannot be so new.

The company by the way provides, upon request, a CD with the catalogue of all their products from 1928 up to now so I requested it, hopefully I will be able to find my kitchen there and see when it was produced.

It was still in its package, everything wrapped and delightful. I could take it out since you can put it back in without ruining the box:

The accessories were still wrapped, it comes with pots and a set including bucket and broom:

Here are some pictures with Pepper and the Mattel Sweethearts for size comparison:

I really love vintage toys :-)

Dollhouse visitors

Friday, October 17th, 2008

Yasmin and her mum, Portia, are visiting the Dollhouse. Portia was of course very critical, she noticed immediately that the floors in the kitchen and bathroom are yet to be redone, well… actually both the rooms are still in progress.

Despite that she would gracioulsy have agreed to move in, the house though is already taken by Momoko and Arianna, so no chance there.

My antiquarian shop

Sunday, October 5th, 2008

So, my antiquarian shop is progressing, I’m not sure though if I will leave like it is or add some finishing touches. I added a couple of furniture and some small props I bought yesterday at the Action Figurado fair. The dolls are are a repro Barbie and Skipper:

Fleamarket time! Again :-)

Monday, August 25th, 2008

Finally I have a long weekend, 5 days free!!! I’m so happy and as usually I planned to do much more than at the end I will manage to accomplish in just few days off :-)

I should also do boring stuff as ironing, cleaning the bathroom and so on and sofort :-( but yesterday the weather was lovely and we went to a fleamarket.

I found quite few nice things but the highlight of the day was her!!!!!

I was almost fainting when the man said he wanted 10 euros, the box is bashed but the doll is NRFB, a shaping up Sindy, beautiful and untouched.

I also got a couple of Strawberry Shortcakes, they are the new issues, not the vintage ones from the’80 but I found them equally cute and picked up also some nice nursery dolls furniture by the same seller:

And then again some nice dolls for my dolls, included a lovely cabbage patch kid and a miniature dollhouse, they are lovely:

Then some random Barbie dolls from end of the ’80, beginning of the ’90, they already having a bath, enjoying a long deserved shampoo:

With them I picked also some nice furniture, again from the ’80 and a couple of barbie miniatures.

Another nice doll I’ve got is this Pocahonats , she’s 40 cm and worth each of the 3 euros I paid for her LOL

I also got some other minor stuff, see some of them here:

Anyway, my house is now overflowing with toys, I mean…more than usually and I need to made a bit of space around so I think I will try to post some of it soon on ebay. Stay tuned…

Fleamarket time!!!

Sunday, August 17th, 2008

As you all know by now I’m really a fleamarket freak and here around in the area there’s enough to satisfy my greed ;-) Yesterday though for the first time we went to one in Bonn (quite few kilometres away) and…oh boy..I never saw such a big one. After more than 3 hours we had covered not even half of it and we decided to head back home. The weather was lovely, I saw plenty of stuff around but many things were “ebay price range” so I didn’t take them. I still picked up a couple of nice things for great prices.

I found one of the super-size ballerina Nutcracker that were in stores few years ago for 60 euros. She’s mint, still with her jewel kept in place by the vinyl strings, she’s beautiful(I will keep her) and I paid the whooping price of 3 euros:

I also got 2 Midge dolls, one with her original jewellery and some cute Barbie accessories. The LP player is a wind-up toy and when you charge it, the small disc really rotates, it is so cute, also the writing machine is very detailed (to be Mattel stuff) even if on the smallish size. The clock is terrible in pink but for once really a good size, not a clock for dwarf dolls:

Totally different but great is this sort of chest I found, it fits nice with dolls in 1/6 scale, and then I love this handpainted small miniature “paintings”, I think all of them we’ll decorate my long-planned Antiquities shop:

I also got a couple of very cheap miniature on the way out, at that point we were a bit lost and overwhelmed so too tired to keep watching:

All of the above was bought for 14 euros, did I mention I love german Fleamarkets? ;-)

Fleamarket again-just few miniatures (again!)

Sunday, August 3rd, 2008

The fleamarket we went to today was not a great success like the last ones we visited but still my husband  found some nice things (not dolls related so not showed here) and I picked up just a couple of miniatures plus few old craft items (total spent for me today was 4 euros :-) )

Here are the miniatures:

I actually believe the 2 “fruit holders” on the left hand side picture are sake cups since there’s the name of a Sake producer written on them, still they are cute.

With the lot above I got also a candies jar and a bottle with 3 small dices inside:

I then picked up some old craft items, included some flowers and dolls hair for just 1,50 euros:

plus a small bear still in his tin box and a billiard/snooker table:

The billiard table will need to be “raised” in some way but it shouldn’t be a big problem.

As you can see nothing really exciting but we had a nice outdoor morning in a lazy sunday.

Another fleamarket…another great day – part 1

Saturday, August 2nd, 2008

Today, as you well know by now, we visited another fleamarket and again I brought back lots of stuff for absolutely great prices. Most of it will end on ebay but I plan to keep few things. Of course if anybody see something he/she would like to have please raise your hand and we’ll see if we can find an agreement ;-)

So, just to start, a huge lot of Tyco Quints dolls plus a Bouncin’ Babies house. I don’t know the dolls the house was intended for but it came with the Tyco sets so I took it. The furniture sets are so sweet, the cradle with 5 little bears and other small accessories is damn cute:

Another nice structure I’ve got (Barbie size) is this “airport check-in desk” that folds into a case. I paid it a bit more than I wanted but I think it is great to display dolls dressed as flight assistants, it is made by Simba, I never saw it around before:

I also found some Barbie furniture accessories and pets, here below a nice vanity table from the’80 (quite big actually) with few small accessories, not mint but still very nice to display:

then some drawers on wheels (not sure how they are called in english) for an hairdresser shop, I plan to use them in the girls bathroom:

the pets are Barbie dog Beauty (he needs a good wash) and one cat plus 2 other ones that don’t look barbie stuff but came with the feline:

I also got a Barbie bed (complete with bedsheets) and some clothes but we forgot the bag in the car, we’ll pick it up today and perhaps post some pictures tomorrow or later one.

Here below some random pictures of miniatures I found, the oriental vase was 50 cents, Arianna was just thrilled when she spotted it. The “paintings” are really  a good fit for 1/6 scales figures and the clock is a pencil sharpener. I plan to use some of them for an antique shop I would like to do:

I told Arianna the perfume bottle was just to big but she thinks it will display beautifully on her vanity desk and at that point I had no energy left to quarrel over it so we took it.

As usually too much stuff for one single post so, if you are still reading it ;-) go to part two for the DOLLS!

New shopping for the dollhouse

Saturday, July 26th, 2008

Arianna is really happy, today she got  some pillows she bought on ebay for the house.

What we both like about them are the fabrics used, here are a couple of pictures:

we also took out a different tea set for the lounge room and she started complaining about the small coffee table, we’ll look for a replacement, something better suited for the oriental style of the room:

next weekend is flea-market time again so hopefully I will find something there :-)

Great "dolls day"

Monday, July 21st, 2008

My sister-in-law, Ursula, just left, we had a great day (well at least it was for me and I hope she enjoyed it as well)!

We “played” with dolls and took tons of pictures for the whole afternoon, ehhmmm….ehhhmmm…I mean…she took tons of pictures while I assisted her in choosing the dolls outfits and props :-)

I will need to organize all of them and perhaps do some slight photo-editing, on top of that they are really too many for one single post but here below are just few of them.

Here you can see for example how the Dollhouse balcony is developing. The strand chair where Momoko sits while playing with her Nintendo was a gift from Ursula, it is lovely:

In the bedroom you can see the mattresses and pillows Ursula made for my girls, the room is still not finished though as you can see:

we almost completed though the walking-in-wardrobe beside the bedroom, the light was not the best when we took the picture but the room is coming up cute, it will just needs some finishing touches:

Here is a quick look at the room that is going to be the kitchen (it needs a different floor and the furniture):

What I really envy to my girls though is the couple of maids running behind them and trying to tidy a bit up the mansion:

The one on the left is my Pure Neemo wearing a Re-Ment outfit from the uniforms collection and if you like you can buy it from my husband shop; the girl on the right is a MewMew doll.

Still many pictures to come from this delightful afternoon but …not today ;-)
