My new addiction : Polyvore

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

I’m not sure I ever let this out but I love clothes, bags, shoes, costume jewellery, make-up….ok …ok…I think you’ve got the picture :-)

The only thing restraining me by buying even more (and trust me…I buy enough) is money and my weight. All of this to say that today I got totally fascinated by a new site I landed on: Polyvore!!!

You can create sets putting together pictures of clothes and fashion accessories like this one below (not created by me):

♥With Love♥
♥With Love♥ – by ☺kim☺(Just dance,gonna be okay) on Polyvore.com

but even better you can incorporate in them also dolls themes like the ones below (again not created by me):

Barbie Girl
Barbie Girl – by SweetestDesire08 on Polyvore.com

Red Lips
Red Lips – by Bobette on Polyvore.com

What else should I say? I’m going to start creating my sets and you need to check it out!

Paper galore

Saturday, February 21st, 2009

Even if you are not a Dookie-poo fan, have a look at the amazing paper-craft sets published on Dookie-poo paperjam, they are amazing and for free! I bet they could suit other small dolls.

And if you need more cute dioramas here again the link for the rooms of the papermuseum, lots of sets have been added recently so check it out again!

But the find of the day, thanks to Lady Ciccia’s blog, are these adorable printies. Honestly, have a look at them (all the pages, not just the first one), they are adorable :-)

New Furniture

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

Today I have my well deserved  day off because of Sunday work and yesterday was pay-day, so guess what? I went shopping!!!

I bought tons of clothes for me and my husband but then I also saw these nice new sets for Barbie and they sort of jumped into my shopping bags ;-)

They are still boxed, but you can have already a quick look, a nice vanity set:

an entertainment centre (I love the remote controls holder shaped like a monkey):

And an Holliwood Bling Nia:

Sadly only the doll was on offer (10 euros), the furniture sets were full price but this is life sometimes :-(

I will post more pictures once I deboxed all of them.

Still Christmas goodies!

Wednesday, December 31st, 2008

As promised, here is another look at what else was in my Christmas parcel: an absolutely delightful coffee table with a built-in display for shells.

I originally planned to use it the lounge-room but I found out it didn’t fit there, I think though it is perfect for the small terrace.

Here is the table:

It was really hard to take a clear picture :-(

Then the girls and I got a nice, classic, chest-of-drawers: that one went into the dressing-room, I had to move and squeeze things around to make space for it but it fits fine:

I like the golden mirror on top of it, it makes a nice contrast with the deep brown-black of the furniture. The best thing is that the chest-of-drawers came filled with dolls goodies as well!!! But to see what is inside you will have to wait :-)

The cute elephant toy was in the parcel as well:

And I also got two nice blankets for the beds!!! Perhaps that will be another post ;-)

Christmas gifts

Wednesday, December 31st, 2008

I hope all of you had a nice X-mas time. Our week was a bit “eventful” but at the end it turned out better than expected.

I’ve got quite few nice gifts (included a Swarovski necklace from my husband) but they do not belong to my dolls world so I will not show them here. From my sister-in-law though I received a parcel full of dolls “goodies”, well…”goodies” is a bit an understatement :-) She gave  my girls and me some gorgeous pieces for the house and so, once the excitement of the holidays was over, we decided to redecorate the lounge-room.

Here is the first thing we found in the wonder–parcel, a stunning fireplace:

here close-up-details of it:

And a quick look at how the redecorated lounge-room is turning out. I kept some oriental accents, but I tried to mix them up with the more opulent feeling inspired by the fire-place:

Here again few close-up pictures

What do you think? I like it :-D

What did you say? “What else was in the parcel”? Well…give me few minutes for the next post ;-)

Nice papercraft props and dioramas

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

I found  recently some nice paper-models that could be cute props for small and medium sized dolls, perhaps you are interested in them as well. Here you can get a set made of food boxes and an old fashion TV. I really like the TV!

If instead you like vintage entertainment systems have a look at these great NES play-consoles, just go to the site and scroll down toward the end of the page. These ones are in 1/8 scale, they could work out also for Skipper ;-)

But the one I really love is the small garden-shed, as soon as I saw  it I remembered having seen last saturday in a shop here some dolls, Shelly-sized. They are dressed in delightful Hello Kitty  outfits and are packed together with garden tools. How nice would they look together? The garden shed comes anyway with the templates for the tools :-)

Happy crafting!

My new Miele Kitchen

Wednesday, November 19th, 2008

Well…actually it is my dolls new Miele Kitchen, I cannot afford one for me ;-) I felt a bit  guilty at the thought of how much I paid for it but after I saw what my sister-in-law got for her birthday I feel totally fine :-D

Here some quick pictures, the light is not the best since I was too lazy to set all the lamps up and grabbed only two of them:

It is 1/12 scale. What can I say? I really love dolls furniture!

Waking up

Saturday, November 1st, 2008

In these last two days I really had fun with my dollhouse :-) Here is Arianna waking up. She remarked once more that she really needs some pictures on the wall!

the nightgown and morning-robe were part of a clothes lot I found at one of the last flea markets we visited. I think they are from the ’80 but they look new.

Betsy in the kitchen

Friday, October 31st, 2008

I’m finally starting to feel a bit better and hopefully by sunday (Barbie fair!!!) I wil be fine. In meantime I helped Betsy to prepare a meal in the dollhouse for Momoko and Arianna, She was really excited about it. She even dressed as a chef! Can you believe it? As you know the kitchen is not ready so she took the lounge-room coffee table over to the kitchen to work better. The fridge is too high for her so she had to use a stool but all together she managed well and the girls were delighted over the great meal. Here a couple of pictures:

The accessories, like the kitchen furniture and her outfit, are all almost re-ment and, as usually, you can buy them by my husband.

Re-ment Princess Tea-sets

Friday, October 24th, 2008

Last week my husband got a new order in for the shop, three of Re-ment tea-sets boxes arrived with it and one was/is mine mine mine!!! They are absolutely lovely and they caused an up-veal in the flat. All my dolls started jumping out of boxes and shelves claiming the sets for themselves! Of course each of them is a queen…but girls…the lounge-room became a mess.

The first one to break free of her box was indeed  a real princess and she grabbed quickly the first set:

Then, not happy with that she tried to seize a second one as well:

At that point all the other dolls started to rush towards the boxes and here below you can see who got what.

This is one of my favourite sets:

and a beautiful lady got it. She’s normally very quiet and shy but today she really made it clear it was her time:-)

Momoko claimed one of them for the dollhouse:

and even two of the Skippers and Pepper ventured out to admire the new purchases:

Here are the last two sets:

So, all together an exciting morning, with lot of beauties :-)
