Tuesday Paper dolls

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

So… we are almost in the middle of the week, spring is coming and to cheer you up even more: PAPER DOLLS!!! Here few ones I collected recently, hope you enjoy them:-)

For a start Prom Night 2009 by Kim Brecklein,  a nice, neat pd and I like that you can colour it up.

Then  Cutie Cut-ups from Castle in the air (23rd of February post), it takes time to download the 2 PDFs but it is worth, the dolls are beautiful, especially if you love vintage costume dolls!

These are the ones I love more, some paper dolls from “The Wizard of Oz”. They are a scan from a Dover book and I’m seriously considering hunting for the book. Check also the rest of the blog, it is really informative and visually stunning. I love for examples the tini-mods dolls and again the scan is very good and I love fashions from the sixties :-) Not really paper dolls, but I NEED to mention it, check one of my new conatcts on Flickr: myvintagevogue, gorgeous photostream!

Another nice paper doll, modern but with a vintage flavor, is Back to School from Lucia Rodriguez portfolio.

And again from Terry Pettit site, these beautiful paper dolls by Helen Page in period costumes, found via Enchanted Serenity of Period Films, definitely a blog to bookmark!

Last but not least a stunning pd of “I Love Lucy”.

Have a nice rest of the week :-)

Blythe for Philosofée

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

It looks like not only Barbie but also Blythe is quite busy in the fashion world this year. Not happy with modeling for Alexander Mcqueen she became also the testimonial for Philosofée.

The video has been done to advertise the Winter 2009 collection and if you look at the “real” clothes on the site  you will see Blythe is wearing miniaturized versions of them, how cute is that?

Fist of oblivion

Saturday, March 28th, 2009

If you have no new DVD in your hands and want to watch something funny have a look at Fist of Oblivion by Roman Coppola, each episode is just 10 minutes long. Not everybody’s taste perhaps but for sure mine :-)

Hope you enjoy!

Japan Barbie Bridal Fashion Show

Another beautiful Barbie Fashion show! As you surely understood by now, I love them :-)

My favourite one is the last dress and yours?

Here is a nice gallery of Barbie in her many appearances as a bride.

That’s all for this morning, I’m on my way to do some shopping :-)

After New York and Toronto also Mumbai had its Barbie Fashion runway. Have a look at the clip from youtube:

And if you have few minute read the related article on the Hindustan Time. Our doll is really the fashion muse of the year ;-) And if this is not enough and you want to have more news about our fashion icon there’s a new blog on my roll: Barbie All Doll’d Up!

New Barbie Movies

Friday, March 27th, 2009

I just watched “Barbie Presents: Thumbelina”, very very cute. Much nicer than I thought. And here is the advertisement of the new dolls if somebody didn’t see them yet:

I also saw on youtube the trailer from the new movie “Barbie and the three musketeers”, not in english unfortunately and the quality is not good but still…if you are curious…here it is:

Have a nice weekend!!!

My Italian (dolls-)shopping

Sunday, March 22nd, 2009

I realized today I still didn’t show what I bought in Italy last week. Actually dolls-wise I didn’t buy much but here is what I’ve got.

To start with I couldn’t resist this cute Topo Gigio, it reminds me of my childhood and it is the only mouse I could ever look at :-D It is  10 cm included the big ears and Momoko loved it as soon as she saw it:

He’s pretty happy Momoko took a fancy at him since I remember he loves beautiful women. If you like to see him “in action”, here he is with Raffaella Carra’:

Then I found one of the Hello Kitty Peek-a-Boo Petite dolls, I still didn’t see any in Germany. I mean, the Petites arrived here as well but I never saw the Hello Kitty issues.  Sadly in Italy I found only the red hair doll, no other one :-( Here she’s:

And I picked up also another Bratz Angelz Baby (Nona), but just because of the pets she comes with (I have quite a collection by now). They are a squirrel and a mouse (again!):

I was so good not to buy more, wasn’t I? :-)

My weekend finds

Sunday, March 22nd, 2009

Yesterday we went finally to the first flea-market of the season. It was fairly small but I still found a couple of nice things.

I got some assorted Barbie clothes and shoes for 10 euros:

My dolls, like me, have never enough shoes :-) The highlight of the day though was this nice garden pavilion:

The box is pretty bashed but the set seems not to have been used at all and comes complete with instructions sheet. It was made in West Germany by Theo Klein, most probably in the seventies. It is for 30 cm dolls and I paid it 3,50 euros, good price :-) On the side of the box you can see the picture of the second set of garden furniture on sale at the time:

That was all for yesterday (at least for me, my husband found a nice carrera car).

Today instead we visited a small specialized toys fair: they were selling only model trains and model cars, no dolls at all, but it was my husband to be interested in it so I tagged along. I still though managed to snap something up and the girls were delighted. I was not sure about the size but for 2 euros I took it anyway and I think size-wise it works fine. What is it? A kicker!!!

The metal bars really rotate and it comes also with a set of small balls to be kicked. Here some details:

so, all together a good start of the “hunting”season :-)

Lego Runway

Saturday, March 21st, 2009

Ok…Ok…I admit I’m a bit obsessed by the the topic in these last few days but watch this:

It is just great!!! I would love to see something so incredibly well done using fashion dolls. Anybody volunteering out there?
