I want a Dollhouse for my girls
Since I collect (1999) I’ve been wanting a doll house for my little girls but let’s face it…prefabricated doll houses in 1/6th scale are, most part of the times, flimsy plastic shelves. I always wonder why you cannot find the kind of doll houses you see in 1/12th scale in..well..BARBIE scale! OK, I know…I know…90% of fashion dolls collectors ask themselves the same question.
Anyway, to make a long story short…. yesterday, strong of 6 days of lounging and skiving around (I have a week off), I looked on Internet for a free Barbie house plan and today went to a carpenter.
The guy was amazed in realizing there are still people who want things made of wood and not plastic (fortunately for him I would say); unsure he understood correctly when I said I didn’t want a kitchen cabinet repaired but a doll house built (that could have been my bad German though) and totally speechless when I clarified I have no children and it is for ME, ME and again ME.
The results of my struggle is: he will give me a quote next week. I will have then to decide whether I can afford it or not, most probably not. But, hey…what is overtime for ? LOL

Really hope he comes back with an affordable price. Be cool to see how it turns out.

I hope so as well, I’m already thinking how much fun would be to hunt for vintage furnitures.

What a great idea. If the guy makes you a reasonable offer, I might be tempted to let him build my stair as well.
So keep me informed.
And as I already wrote you… if this plan is realised, please please please let me help decorating!

well, I was actually planning to “hire” you as internal designer, I’m totally unable to do any manual work
